Sitting at the bus stop a couple of days ago an older lady started talking to me, asking what I studied, where I was from and telling me all about her kids and grandchildren. It started me thinking about how if it had been someone closer to my age; it would have been highly unlikely we would have started a conversation. Instead I imagine we would have both sat there with our ipods in. Could it be that we spend so much time online now, talking to people we have never met, because unlike the generations before us we find it harder and un-natural to strike up a conversation with someone new face to face. Could we in fact simply be less social then the generations before us?
Are we less social than the older generations?
