My intention for starting this website was so that I could share my opinion on the marketing industry and build, develop and maintain my personal brand. But such as life, things have gotten in the way. Soon after beginning this website, my university workload suddenly took off and quickly snowballed until my waking hours consisted of University, work or University work. Thankfully, my exams for the semester are now over, giving me time to reflect on how I can reschedule my life to fit in everything I want to do, as well as everything I have to do.
For me I can’t live without a schedule, my entire university semester was timetabled, what I would be doing when and it allowed me to concentrate without being distracted by other things that needed to be done, because I knew they would get done. So I have begun a blogging editorial and content calendar to help me blog more regularly. I am also taking an elective university unit next semester in ‘IT & Society’, a unit which looks at the online world and how it has had an impact on today’s society. Apart from being really excited about doing this unit it will hopefully also give me interesting posts to write about.
I am also beginning a new page on books, blogs and website I am currently reading (or intend to read) and hope you can all help by suggesting books that have inspired you.
In addition, I have now also updated both my Facebook and Twitter accounts and I am in the process of putting a private spreadsheet together so I can more efficiently manage all my online accounts out there and streamline the content I am writing.
Also, my email account has become a 2 week task of its own, for me blogs need to move over to my google reader and out of my inbox to try and cut down on the sheer volume of emails I receive on a daily basis. Anyone have any suggestions, or tips on how they manage their inbox? I feel no email provider has the same flexibility in email management as outlook, where I can colour code, flag and set to do lists and manage my calendar. Gmail tries, it really tries.
Finally, I am currently putting together information on companies in the Sydney area (mostly), as before I know it will be the Australian summer time again and I am really keen to pick up an internship or some work experience to keep me busy over the break (which I believe is about 10 weeks long). So if you know of any opportunities coming up, please let me know. Alternatively, you may just be hearing from me soon!
Anyway enough of my rambling, I am back with great intentions and vision for this website. I am really looking forward to its potential and what the future holds.
