I was introduced to a new concept last year called a flash mob and didn’t really understand the concept until I watched an ad on YouTube for the new flip camera. If you haven’t seen the ad you can see it here:
I think that it is absolutely hilarious and such a great way to promote this specific product. These kind of flash mobs take place all around the world too, here is one that T-Mobile did in the UK:
Think about it if you got caught up in one of these – you would tell people about it! Some may not be for something specific, some it may not be obvious but say there was 100 people dancing at a place near you, they may all take off their jacket to reveal a t-shirt with a brand on it – it’s something you will remember! Something you will try and record on your phone and definitely something you will tell your friends and family about.
In order to stand out from the marketing norm these days you need to do something different. Although flash mobs are now nothing new, I don’t believe they have lost their novelty yet. They are funny, a talking point and for me have a ‘feel good’ feeling.
Have you ever seen one take place or better yet done or been in one for your brand, product, company or just for fun?

Here is one for the Sydney Mardi Gras, enjoy and share yours!
